Sonic City is built with privacy as a first principle. The short version: we collect nothing.
Nothing. Sonic City does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any server. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no registration process.
Sonic City uses your device's GPS to detect music landmarks near you. This location data is processed entirely on your iPhone by iOS. It is never transmitted to any server, stored in any database, or shared with any third party — including us.
Sonic City triggers music playback through your Apple Music or Spotify subscription. Playback is handled entirely by those services, subject to their own privacy policies. Sonic City does not access your music library, listening history, or account details.
Sonic City contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. We do not use cookies, local storage beyond your language preference, or any cross-app identifier.
The app and website store the following on your device only:
None of this leaves your device.
The Sonic City website loads the Inter font from Google Fonts. Google Fonts may log your IP address when the font is requested. If you prefer not to have this request made, you can use a browser extension that blocks external font loading.
No other third-party scripts, pixels, or services are used on this website.
Sonic City does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Because we collect no data at all, there is nothing additional to say here.
If we ever change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date above and note what changed.
